Arnulfo Rubio is a young arms smuggler operating between Mexico and the United States, navigating the world of trafficking and organized crime with growing skill. His life changes abruptly when he is intercepted by Hank Harris, an ATF agent, during a botched undercover operation.

Instead of being immediately arrested, Hank is captured and forced into becoming Arnulfo’s prisoner. What begins as a kidnapping soon turns into a forced 600-mile journey across the Mexico–US border, as the young smuggler must transport Hank while trying to avoid law enforcement.

During the journey, an unusual and complex dynamic develops between the two men, marked by silence, tension, and gradual mutual understanding. Hank, initially hostile and determined to escape, begins to see Arnulfo not just as a criminal, but as a product of a larger system shaped by poverty, violence, and corruption.

The journey becomes a moral descent for both characters: one representing the law, the other crime, yet both trapped within forces larger than themselves. As the miles pass, the line between victim and captor blurs, challenging the very roles that define them.

Arnulfo Rubio è un giovane trafficante di armi che opera tra il Messico e gli Stati Uniti, muovendosi con abilità nel mondo del contrabbando e delle organizzazioni criminali. La sua vita cambia improvvisamente quando viene intercettato da Hank Harris, un agente dell’ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives), durante un’operazione sotto copertura andata male.

Invece di arrestarlo immediatamente, Hank viene catturato e costretto a diventare prigioniero di Arnulfo. Quello che nasce come un sequestro diventa presto un viaggio forzato di circa 600 miglia attraverso il confine tra Messico e Stati Uniti, in cui il giovane criminale deve riportare Hank dai suoi superiori mentre cerca di evitare le autorità.

Con il passare delle ore, la distanza tra vittima e carnefice si fa sempre più sottile, fino a mettere in discussione i ruoli stessi che li hanno definiti.
